Joonas Lahtinen (Helsinki, Töölö)

I graduated as a sports massage therapist from the Sports Massage Institute of Finland in 2010, and as an osteopath from OOKK (the orthopedic osteopathy training center) in 2017. At the moment Im doing Masters in Sports physiotherapy in Jyväskylä. Over the years, I have treated many different types of athletes: ice hockey, basketball and handball players, as well as marathon runners in Helsinki and Stockholm. From 2016 to 2019, I worked as a sports massage therapist and osteopath for the representative team of the Finnish basketball club Torpan Pojat and currently Im working with Helsingin IFK womens ice hockey team. I have played ice hockey myself for nearly 15 years. It is important for me to treat each customer according to their specific needs, whether they are top athletes or senior citizens.

Karri Eliasson (Helsinki, Töölö)
Osteopath

I have graduated as a sports massage therapist and osteopath. I have a lot of experience in treating different types of athletes (ice hockey players, basketball players and track and field athletes, to name a few). In addition to different kinds of soft tissue techniques, I use acupuncture needles in my treatments. I normally add a low electric current, which enhances the effect on the activity of the nervous system, reducing pain and improving muscular functions. I always discuss treatment options beforehand with my patients.

I want to help athletes reach their full potential. This requires a healthy, functioning body. I am also happy to treat all sorts of everyday ailments, regardless of the patient’s age and occupation.

Johanna Kaarela (Helsinki, Töölö)
Massage therapist / Sports massage therapist

I graduated from the Sports Massage Institute of Finland in 2015. I did my degree in Spain. My own sports background and previous working experience made me interested in body care, musculoskeletal disorders, and improving the ability to function. I have training and coaching experience in track and field athletics and artistic gymnastics. We all have our own bumps and bruises, and this is why I find it extremely important to treat each customer as an individual.

Henrik Ruokanen (Töölö)
Massage therapist / Sports massage therapist

I graduated as a sports massage therapist in Spain in spring 2019. I have a strong background in sports, and I have played soccer and ice hockey since I was a kid. A few years ago, I had to quit playing ice hockey, as my style of playing led to a shoulder injury. Because of my background, I had dreamt of becoming a sports massage therapist for years, and finally decided to make it happen. I believe that the well-being of the body is directly linked to the well-being of the mind, and my goal is to help customers reach an overall state of well-being.

Matilda Cordeiro
Physiotherapy / Sports Massage

I am a physiotherapist and a sports masseur. Injury prevention and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal problems are areas that particularly interest me. Team sports have always been a favorite of mine; being a player myself, as well as a coach and physiotherapist for the Sparta B-girls handball team, helps me understand the athletes’s needs for a practical and effective prevention and rehabilitation program.

During your appointment, I will carefully listen to you and then we will together design a tailor-made rehabilitation plan and go through the exercises. Throughout the treatment, I prefer using a lot of different mobilisation techniques. I also offer kinesiology- and sporttaping. See you in Töölö!

Sampo Kettunen
Sports masseuse

I am a sports masseuse by training and I`m studying orthopedic osteopathy. I am particularly interested in the prevention and rehabilitation of various injuries, as well as the treatment and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal disorders. Personally I have purposefully played hockey at a younger age and through it various sports-related injuries and their rehabilitation are familiar from experience.

I want to help people get rid of pain and develop their physical well-being. Relaxing alone is also a good reason to go for a occasional massage, so you don’t have to have any pain or problem for my reception.

Welcome!

Hannah Olin
Physiotherapist

I graduated as a physiotherapist in 2022 and wrote my thesis on psychophysical physiotherapy in the management of burnout. My interest in health and well-being awakened through active gym training and jogging, both of which have had an important role in my life for almost 7 years now. Previously, I also swam, danced and played handball for a few years.

Overall well-being is important to me, and that’s something I also want to share with my clients. Improving and maintaining good health through the joy of exercise is a central part of my therapy.

As a therapist I view my clients as individuals and we create a therapy plan according to your specific needs. The plan could include mostly manual therapy or therapeutic exercise, but a combination usually gives the best results. I will guide and support throughout the journey but you yourself hold the keys to your well-being.

You are welcome to see me regardless of your problem, age and exercise background. I like to work with people of working age, but seniors and younger clients are also warmly welcome. It doesn’t matter if you actively play sports or everyday functional movement is more your thing.

Together we will solve your issue, regardless if it’s related to:

  • Injury
  • Pain
  • Tension
  • Overexertion
  • Problems with mobility or muscle strength
  • Stressrelated symptoms

I speak Swedish, Finnish, English and Spanish.

Heini Artama
Sports masseur

I graduated from Sports massage institute of Finland in December 2022. I applied to gain more knowledge of human body and to understand better how it works. At the very beginning of the studies I realised how narrow-minded I have been about the profession. I noticed I got excited about the new things we learned that I didn’t even knew we would. During the studies we learned how to add mobility to joints with mobilization techniques and tractions, and MET’s for muscles. We worked with professional athletes so we got to learn what it takes to be one. I won’t stop studying though, I have a bookshelf full of anatomy and physiology related books that I will go through and find out what I don’t yet know!

I’m very fascinated about pain; how it begins, acts and what things effects on it. The most interesting and inspirational customers during the studies were the ones who had had chronic pain and hadn’t gotten help for. In this work it is delightful to have an impact on a customer’s day and even life in a positive way. As a healthcare professional I want people to feel good both physically and mentally and I hope I can help with that.

My own sports background is versatile: I have played football for over 20 years, and less time ice hockey and volleyball. I attended sports class from 3rd to 9th grade and I was part of school’s floorball, football and volleyball teams. I studied sports and leisure management in an international degree program and I have a diploma in coaching from Vierumäki. Weekends and the nights during the week I mostly spend in an ice hall as a hockey coach.
